Teachers are the most important asset of the Honolulu Symphony education team. Our workshops for teachers are designed to help teachers help their students gain the fullest benefit from the Honolulu Symphony experience.

The Professional Development for Teachers program is a service of the Honolulu Symphony and there is no charge to participating schools.

Workshops for Youth Concert and In-School Ensemble Teachers on O‘ahu

Teachers who have registered for the Youth Concerts and In-School Ensembles programs are strongly encouraged to attend these 2 hour workshops which introduce the year’s Youth Education curriculum; provide methods by which teachers can help prepare their students for the Honolulu Symphony experience. and suggst ways in which teachers can incorporate music in to their broader curriculum. Participating teachers will receive 2 free tickets to a 2008–09 Honolulu Symphony concert.

Workshop for Carnegie Hall’s LinkUp! Teachers

This workshop is required for teachers registered for the LinkUp! program. It offers an introduction to the year's LinkUP! curriculum; tools with which to prepare students for this exciting interactive concert experience; and methods for incorporating music into a broader curriculum. Participating teachers will receive a voucher for 2 free tickets to a 2008–09 Honolulu symphony concert.
