I welcome you to what I promise will be an exciting journey and a thrilling experience: my first season with the Honolulu Symphony. I am looking forward to taking this outstanding orchestra to the next level of artistic excellence and invite you to join us on this road of discovery. The guiding light of symphonic music is richly woven into the fabric of our lives. Music is the joyous song for our celebrations, the anthem of our revolutions, an emotional anchor in days of sadness and a doorway to higher realms of spirituality. Music is not a luxury; it is an essential nourishment for the mind, body and spirit.
